YBYC Wednesday Night Racing Results

 

Wednesday races are free for skippers who are YBYC members. The entry fee for skippers who are not YBYC members is $50 per series. Non-members new to racing at YBYC may race on two Wednesdays before being subject to entry fees.

Bridge to Bridge Offshore Race: August 16-18, 2013

Invitation and Description:

This race is one of the most exciting sailboat races in the Pacific Northwest! Sail south through 100 miles of sunshine, blue skies and the most beautiful coastline on the West Coast. From the mouth of the Columbia to the mouth of the Yaquina in Newport, Oregon. The race is handicapped at just under 100 miles and is usually a starlit overnight race. The elapsed time record is held by “Grins” at 10 hours and 45 minutes! This Northwest version of the Ensenada Race is a PIYA Category 1 offshore race. Plan a stay in Newport and explore our fabulous central Oregon coast, or get together with your fellow competitors and race back to Astoria.

Eligibility and Instructions:

This is a PIYA Category 1 race. All entrants must meet all PIYA Category 1 requirements. This race is limited to boats of 24 feet and longer. A cruising class may be available depending on entries. A skippers meeting and pre-race social will be held Friday August 16th in Astoria. On Sunday the 18th a welcome party and trophy presentation will be held at the Yaquina Bay Yacht Club in Newport.
